Experience an interactive performance adventure in the streets of Brighton, with a series of unique theatre pieces performed in and around six Victorian-style bathing machines across the city.

Throughout May, when Brighton is blooming with art, six bespoke Victorian-style bathing machines will appear at some of the city’s iconic landmarks.

Each bathing machine will be the inspiration and the venue for a series of brand new performances by South East artists, creating unforgettable experiences with the city and its visitors.

See these fascinating replicas brought to life as beautifully customised, mobile mini-theatres, housing astonishing performances every weekend in May.”

Interview with Seth Kriebel – performance maker and director of Rules & Regs

In this interview Seth Kriebel, performance maker and director of Rules & Regs describes his interactive narrative work, ‘The Unbuilt Room’. Approaches to making, rules and structures, imagination, interpretation and the importance of the audience experience are discussed.

‘Expanded Narrative’ is funded by Plymouth University Teaching & Learning Directorate.

Expanded narrative is a new field of experimental narrative practices that are not represented by single subjects or by categories such as ‘interactive’. Fiction or nonfiction works that present a challenge to their particular category or genre, in terms of structure, style of writing or audience engagement, may be described as expanded narratives.

This is the home of the Expanded Narrative Research Network. The network is concerned with exploring the multidisciplinary field of narrative practices that reconfigure the form and expand the experience of storytelling.

This site offers news, reviews, resources and and a space for exchange of ideas with practitioners, educators and researchers, concerned with pervasive games, interactive, locative and transmedia narrative and storytelling.
